Building in the Lake Whatcom Watershed always presents a range of challenges, and this home was no exception. We responded to strict stormwater regulations by designing a roof system that allows effective collection of runoff to be gravity fed to a sand filter before exiting the property. Built on family land that connects to the grandparent’s property to the north, this project aimed to create multigenerational living environment with shared commons space between the buildings.
