Let’s get started! We’re excited to help you design your home and create a space that reflects your vision. To begin the process and prepare a contract for our design services, we will need some intake information about your project. It is helpful to share as much detail about the project as possible, so that we're all on the same page about the big picture vision, needs vs. wants, realistic budgeting, and the overall success of the project.

Please provide a concise narrative of what you're hoping to build.

Project Budget

Please provide a realistic budget window for how much you're hoping to invest into the project. Will you be obtaining a construction loan? Have you planned for contingencies? Are there reserves or alternative funding sources available if the project costs grow during construction? If the scope of work exceeds the available budget, would you prefer to scale the project back, or develop a phased scope of work to begin moving forward? Are you hoping to be involved in any aspects of construction, either for personal reward or for cost-savings?

Architectural Style

Please provide a description of your desired architectural style.

Project Constraints

Are you aware of existing constraints on the property that need to be identified and planned around? Easements restricting access, HOA regulations, archaeological artifacts, steep slopes, wetlands, flood zones, zoning restrictions, watershed concerns, etc? For remodel/addition projects, what is the year of the existing home? What is the condition of the existing foundation? Is there existing lead paint or asbestos? Outdated wiring? Please be as thorough and candid as possible in describing any elements that you’re aware of that may constrain or influence design possibilities.

Project Details - Needs

Please describe any key features of the home that feel like clear requirements for a successful project. For instance, a walk-in pantry, space for biking/skiing/gear storage, a wood fireplace, etc.

Project Details - Wants

Now for the fun stuff! Please describe wish-list items that you'd love to include in the project if possible. Space for a piano? A soaking tub? A window seat?

Accessibility Requirements

Would you like to plan for aging-in-place considerations? This consideration can impact hallway widths, door sizing, bathroom design, etc. Is there a need to plan for an elevator to access an upper floor?

Environmental Considerations

Is it important to you to minimize the building's environmental impact? This can influence decisions around materials, mechanical systems, and overall operating efficiency. Would you like to aim for Net-Zero energy design? Is passive solar orientation important to you? Is it important that we plan for a roof-top solar electric system? Would you like to mill on-site lumber for specific uses within the building?
