Designed in close collaboration with the homeowners, this residence is set amidst the forest of Blanchard Mountain. Aaron Loveitt is a close personal friend and a vastly talented artist/sculptor/blacksmith, and it was a true honor to work with him to develop the vision for this home. With a cascading gabled roof line and cedar shake siding, this home is intended to feel a part of the forested mountain that is sits upon. Mr. Loveitt built this home largely by his own hand, along with help from the local community and his talented father in law, Steve Vandusen. All of the ironwork within the home was built onsite in his 3500SF shop just down the hill, and the majority of the wood was milled from trees fallen onsite… including the cottonwood ceiling, an unusual material choice that worked out beautifully.
